Managing director Patrick Allen will advise hospitals, health systems and payer organizations from the firm’s Chicago office

CHICAGO --(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2018-- Piper Jaffray Companies (NYSE: PJC), a leading investment bank and asset management firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Patrick Allen as a managing director within healthcare investment banking . Allen joins Piper Jaffray with more than 20 years of investment banking advisory experience and will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Prior to joining Piper Jaffray , Allen was a managing director and co-head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Kaufman Hall & Associates , where he advised hospitals, health systems and physician practices, and was instrumental in helping to establish the firm’s M&A practice. Prior to Kaufman Hall, Allen served as director of healthcare M&A at CIT Group and as a principal at Alliant Partners . Earlier in his career, he worked in the investment banking groups at UBS and Lincoln International . Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Santa Clara University and a Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in finance, from Loyola University Chicago .
