CHARLOTTE, N.C. --(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2018-- Piper Jaffray Companies (NYSE: PJC), a leading investment bank and asset management firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Lawson as a managing director in the diversified industrials & services investment banking group. Lawson has extensive experience in the packaging, plastics and paper sectors. He is based in the firm’s Charlotte office.

Lawson re-joined Piper Jaffray from Lazard Middle Market , where he served as a managing director in its industrials investment banking group. Prior to Lazard, he was a managing director in the industrials group at BMO Capital Markets . Prior to BMO, Lawson was in the industrial investment banking group at Piper Jaffray . He previously held senior positions at ABN AMRO Inc. and Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Company . Early in his career, Lawson worked at the law firm of McCarthy Tetrault and as an accountant at Ernst & Young and Coopers & Lybrand in Toronto .
